MANIFESTO

Manifesto & priorities

Priorities and practical policies for Arbory and the Isle of Man, focused on openness, security and local resilience.

01

Trust

Government should be honest, transparent and accountable. Trust is earned through openness rather than unrealistic promises.

02

Security

Security spans food, energy, housing, the economy and long-term resilience. The Island needs reliable, affordable services and a stable future.

03

Sustainability

Decisions should leave the Island stronger for the next generation — financially, socially and environmentally.

01

Rebuilding trust in government

Rebuild the connection between government and the public with clear, honest communication and accountable decision-making. Difficult facts should be shared openly and handled with respect.

02

Trust

Commit to openness and transparency across government so residents can see how and why decisions are made.

03

Security

Prioritise dependable, affordable services that support long-term resilience across housing, food and energy systems.

04

Sustainability

Make decisions that protect the Island’s future — balancing economic stability with environmental stewardship.

05

A leaner, more effective government

Support those delivering services and remove unnecessary management that slows action and adds cost.

06

Responsible public finances

Protect frontline services and ensure public spending is sustainable and focused on value for taxpayers.

07

Food and agriculture

Build a local food strategy that supports farmers, encourages young people into agriculture and strengthens local supply.

08

Housing

Link housing policy with apprenticeships and local trades, and explore practical options such as rent-to-buy to help people stay on the Island.

09

Skills and apprenticeships

Expand practical and vocational pathways so young people can build careers at home and meet local demand for skilled trades.

10

Energy security

Measure energy policy by reliability and affordability, and pursue solutions that deliver consistent supply for residents and businesses.

11

Wind and tidal energy

Proceed cautiously: ensure thorough investigation and public scrutiny before committing to large-scale wind projects, and seriously explore tidal options where appropriate.

LOCAL PRIORITY

Arbory School

Tackle long-standing traffic and parking problems outside Arbory School with practical, lasting measures to improve safety at drop-off times.

Government should never underestimate the public’s ability to understand the truth.
13

Listening to residents

Commit to meeting people, listening to concerns and making decisions that reflect what matters most locally.
